Megapixels is how many millions of pixels that the end result will be, so the higher the number the higher the image resolution. Any more than 6 megapixels will give great 4 x 6 and larger can go without losing too much quality, but if you want a great big pictures, you need a higher resolution. Optical zoom is using zoom lenses. This is the best method available zoom, so if you want to see things much clearer farther, look for more in this category. But remember that the longer the zoom, the less stable you will be able to keep the image, so a tripod may be necessary to use this. Digital zoom Personally, it refuse to use. This is where the picture is enlarged by using the camera software itself, and using this can degrade the image quality greatly. A lot of cameras offer 100x digital zoom or more, which in my opinion, only the output image shit. Some have success with this feature, but my advice is to avoid it.
