This camera uses a special battery for Canon. I bought a generic battery with the same number of battery charge. I do not know if thats a problem
The camera is capable of taking 3 frames per second (5 in an environment of lower quality). Sometimes it is a matter of the camera trying to find its focus on relatively light situations low, and can be a problem for many compact point / and compact cameras. You do not indicate whether you refer to Flash pictures-in this case, the flash has to recycle before it can take another photo with flash. If this is not a photo with flash and not enough light and contrast for the autofocus to work, then there could be a problem with batteries. This camera is 6, almost 7 years old and I would consider a new camera before you buy new batteries for it.
